Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: Verily Allah has fixed the very portion of adultery which a man will indulge in, and which he of necessity must commit. The adultery of the eye is the lustful look, and the adultery of the tongue is the licentious speech, the heart desires and yearns, which the parts may or may not put into effect. (Sahih Muslim, Book 033, Number 6421, see also Number 6422)
From the above text, we learn that:
1. Allah has a fixed portion of adultery you will indulge in
This is a very funny statement. If Allah has decided how many times you will commit adultery, that can only mean one of two things:
1. It takes away muslim’s responsibility for committing adultery. Mashalla! God willed it!
2. Allah is playing games with you. First, he decides how many times you will commit this sin, and then he will condemn you for doing it!
Is this the one true God speaking to us, telling us that he has a divine will and plan for how many times we will commit adultery?
2. You must commit this portion of adultery
“…and which he of necessity must commit…” See it? You have no choice. You must commit to this portion of adultery. If Allah has decided your amount, that means that each man has a fixed number of times he will be adulterous. So, if one man is more adulterous than the next, it simply means that Allah had set that man up for more sin.
Some muslim’s might raise the objection, that this only speaks of the thoughts and intentions, not the sexual act. Well, the expression “which the parts may or may not put into effect” means having sex. For further clarification, let’s read the next hadith from Al-Bukhari speaking of the same topic:
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas:
I did not see anything so resembling minor sins as what Abu Huraira said from the Prophet, who said, “Allah has written for the son of Adam his inevitable share of adultery whether he is aware of it or not: The adultery of the eye is the looking (at something which is sinful to look at), and the adultery of the tongue is to utter (what it is unlawful to utter), and the innerself wishes and longs for (adultery) and the private parts turn that into reality or refrain from submitting to the temptation.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 77, Number 609)
Conclusion: Allah has preordained how many times you will commit adultery. He simply has a plan for this. This proves to us the amount of filth Allah has in store for us.
